How we came about....

 

When mother and daughter team, Betty and Rachael were passing their time together over a glass of wine one day they talked about how it would be ideal if there was a male chaperone service for busy, professional women. A service where a woman could at a whim pick up the phone or email a business to arrange for a safe, indulging and respectful gentleman to accompany her to any event be it business or social. Respect and confidentiality came to mind and the idea that women could choose to spend time with a gentleman that was available just for them when they chose. From this discussion knights2rememba was born.
Betty understands the respect and care women like when engaging in a social environment. She is a Mum and a grandmother, both roles that she loves and that have taught her so much. Her working life has included owning and running a business – in the male dominated world of auto radiator repairs. From this world she learnt how to be strong, diligent and determined. She is an outgoing, warm person whose passions include travelling around new Zealand and overseas with a special love of the outdoors – kayaking, fishing and hiking are among her favourites and she is enjoying teaching her grandchildren the joys of these pastimes.

As a mature woman, Betty has been to engagements and events and knows what it's like not to have a partner at your side and the loneliness this can create of not quite "fitting in" at times for that very reason.

Knights2rememba is the business to fill this void in any woman's life.

Rachael is the younger of Betty’s 2 daughters. She is a Mum to her 11 year old daughter who is at intermediate school age, and is a great organizer. She helps Betty and Rachael with their business and tidies up their desks…Some would say she gets this natural ability for logistics from her Mum. Rachael also has a beautiful new baby son who is almost 8 months. She moved to Tauranga from Auckland recently to be nearer Betty and for lifestyle reasons. In Auckland Rachael worked as a Receptionist and office administrator. She loves to meet people and with a keen sense of humour and easy going personality she gets on well with people of all ages. These skills are greatly respected by clients and chaperones in Knights2rememba.

Like her Mum, Rachael enjoys spending time with her children outdoors, but at more relaxed places like the beach. Rachael also loves to write poetry, and finds inspiration while just sitting on the deck or during those quiet times.

Rachael believes that the success of Knights2rememba will be in providing ladies with chaperones to escort them to any engagement where they can feel safe in the knowledge that the service is professional and discretion guaranteed.
